| Dear Senator, I am writing to ask you to defeat Bill C-389, which proposes to include "gender identity" and "gender expression" in the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code. Unlike the term "Sex", recognized as unequivocally "objective by Law of Nature", "Gender" here is unclearly defined "subjective" perception. The Charter of Rights already guarantees equal protection to all; this Bill has nothing more adding to anyone's rights. If the Bill becomes law, it would lead to negative consequences on medical, legal, business, education, religious and other fields. It would allow men who 'say' they are women to use women's public facilities, increasing unpredictable threats; and as such, Bill C-389 should not be passed.
